Winter at The Treehouse

The Treehouse is headquarters for our nationally acclaimed children's programs for guests ages 2½-12. Our counselors are "fun experts" and know how to keep everyone active and happy - all while learning new skills combining "safety first" supervised activities with on-the-snow skiing adventure.

Snow Play (Age 3)
Children will spend one hour in the morning and a second hour in the afternoon playing boot games in the snow, learning the parts of a ski and getting comfortable on skis. All first time three year olds will begin in the Snow Play program. Children showing proficient ski skills may advance to Mogul Monkeys.

Mogul Monkeys (Ages 4 - 12)
Ski lessons AND indoor camp activities! A great way to spend the day with new friends who have the same skiing ability. Full day program includes lift access, up to four hours of ski lesson time, ski equipment, lunch, snacks, hot chocolate and parent/child ski time (time permitting).

Spend an exciting day in the Treehouse enjoying arts and crafts, cooking, group games, music and stories.

Mountain Mornings (Ages 3-6)
Looking for something special to do with your preschooler? This Treehouse program is the perfect way to teach your child to ski. This 5-week program includes up to two hours of on-snow lesson time. Lift ticket and rental equipment, as well as other fun activities. And while your child is in the program, you can ski free! Or just relax in The Gristmill with a cup of coffee and a good book. New this year: Babysitting for toddler siblings under age 3 ($75 additional).

Rate: $225 per 5 week sessions (includes free lift ticket and rental for one adult)
Dates: Wednesdays: January 7 through February 4, or February 11 through March 11

Mountain Explorers
(Available weekends, holidays and midweek with two or more students of similar abilities. Please call to check for availability.)
For advanced beginners ages 7-14. Includes lift access, 5 hours of lessons and practice time, lunch and snacks. Reservations are required. Full Day $110; Half Day (morning session only) $75 (rentals not included) 434-325-8065

Mountain Explorers Pro
(Ages 6 and up)
Let our staff of PSIA/AASI trained and certified instructors take you to the next level with this five week program. Get your friends together and join us for some fun on the slopes. Space is limited so call ahead (lift tickets not included).
Lesson Length: 2 hours
Lesson Time: 9:30 - 11:30

Cost: Full Course: $450, Half Course: $300

Make-up lessons are not available if a child misses a scheduled class. If Wintergreen cancels a class, a make-up day will be scheduled.

Save Time - Bring a completed registration form (available by clicking here (pdf)), a copy of your child's birth certificate and immunization record with you to check-in.

Treehouse Express Check-in - Be the first ones on the slopes by pre-registering your child. Offered 6-9 p.m. December 26-30, 2006 and every Friday in January and February.

Treehouse Registration Information

1. Treehouse Registration Form
2. All Treehouse programs require advance reservations. Please sign up early as programs fill up fast.
3. Please call ahead if your child has special needs, in order for us to provide appropriate care.
4. A credit card number will be needed to guarantee reservations. 24-hour notice is required for cancellation without a penalty.
5. Virginia State Law requires a birth certificate and copy of your child's immunization record at time of registration.
6. All children should bring a change of clothes and adequate ski apparel (i.e. waterproof ski bibs, waterproof gloves, a warm coat, a hat that covers the ears, two pairs of socks; neck gator and goggles are optional). Children who do not have adequate gear will not be sent out onto the snow. Please label clothing.
7. Children will be grouped according to age and ability in our programs. A healthy staff/child ratio is maintained so that we may effectively provide your child with a quality experience.
8. If you have past ski report cards, please bring them along to help us assess your child's ski ability.
9. The Treehouse endeavors to be a peanut-free facility. If you pack a lunch for your child, please do not include any food items with peanuts.

Treehouse Hours
Full Day: 8:15 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Half Day: 8:15 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1-4:30 p.m.

Check-in time for Mogul Monkeys, Snow Play and Kids in Action is 8:15 a.m. Full day program offered daily. Half day program offered Monday-Friday and non-holiday Sundays - not available on Saturdays or holidays (December 22-January 1, January 20 or February 17). Lunch is not included in the half day program, but is available for $7 additional fee.
